Coffee with the King

Please pray for me

I'm going to take a step to spend more time knowing Christ.

This is a big step for me and humbly I ask your prayers as the enemy always cleverly tries to put stumbling blocks in our path to enter in this new rest.   Hebrews 4:11 states, "Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest,"  We do that as we meditate on God's words daily; his word is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating even to dividing soul and spirits, joints and marrow; making right the thoughts and the attitudes of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

Let's pray for one another to enter into this rest today as we meditate, revere and marvel at on the wonders of God.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

The Marriage of Love and Pain

The Marriage of Love and Pain

In time love came to make the pain his friend
Love saw how much pain the pain was in
And when he decided to make the pain his friend
He saw the pain’s pain end,

Pain was just a little boy
who thought he had no choice
But to roam without a voice
Until love came and gave him a place to rest

Pain was just a lad
who thought he had no chance
to make it, only to be void
Until love came and taught him how to dance

After all the many miles he’s gone through
After all the many trails he’s run through
After all the many holes that bled through his soul
Love came and showed him a new home

After all the many miles he’s gone through
After all the many trails he’s run through
After through all the many holes the soul bled
Love came and made him his new best friend

Now, you are healed
Now you are free!
Now you walk though the door!
Now you hold the keys!
Now is a new day!
Now, bird, you can fly away!

Love came to make the pain his friend
Love saw how much pain the pain was in
And when he decided to make the pain his friend
He saw the pain’s pain end,

So next time look at pain think of what you see.
And remember the story of how love found me.

A Fireproof Diet

Do you have a desire to stabilize your weight.   This is the truly fireproof diet. And it is bread from heaven. :)

Feed on the food that is truly fulfilling (John 4:34).  Feeding on the word of God and seeking to be all pleasing to him gives a complete fulfillment that can never be found in anything that this world will have to offer.  It confirms the words Jesus says about your life:  Jesus said, "Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."    Pray as you are filled with the fulfilling satisfaction of living according to God's heart.   This is the true food we work for (John 6:27).  You will be full. This is a promise.  Jesus says,  "I am the bread of life.  Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."   How glorious is the food Jesus gives us!

Jesus says in John 6:55  "For my flesh is real food and my blood is read drink."   Natural food is not meant to satisfy the appetite.  Because our true appetite is for the bread of life.   Have liviing bread for breakfast.  Have the bread of life for lunch.   Feast on his flesh and blood meditating on his words at dawn.   Jesus says, "I am the living bread that came down from heaven.  Whoever eats this bread will live forever.  This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world."  Praying that your work and your food be fulfilling in all the definition of the word.

Be fulfilled in all definition today.

Success, Marriage and C.E.O.

When I was younger I was told there are three things as a man I must learn to apply wisdom to:  1.  Money  2. Women  3. Power.  I'm learning these and this is an analogy that helps me:

Marriage is holy.  To put it practically, marriage is equivalent to the position of a C.E.O. partnership of perhaps a company over a million employees.  It has helped me to consider: Before you take the position, wouldn't you study about its requirements?  What are the responsibilities that the job requires?  Sure, taking on such a position would involve benefits, but without the knowledge to handle the responsibilities, would these benefits be rewarding?   One could say sex before it’s time is like eating flour, salt, sugar and an egg in an oven.   The timing and preparation is out of whack.  A cookie tastes so much better when baked properly.

Everyone is entitled to success, and if we want success in relationships we must understand the place of sex as is one of God’s gifts given to all of us in marriage.  Men or women who have prepared his or her self in holiness are now ready to take on the full position of C.E.O. and  have taken some successful steps to steward well their “company”.  We are all C.E.O.’s  What are we C.E.O. of?  Our Families,  our relationships, and our communities.  Yet not just our families…not only our communities…but also our country, and even the nations.  Marriage is the institution that holds own nation strongly together.  So we each have a commitment in this.  We've all heard it before, but it's just like losing weight, there's no way to get around eating right and exercise.  Similarly, our stewardship in and before marriage will bless ourselves and eventually others if we decide to wait, study, work hard, be our best have safe what is meant to bless our lives for marriage.   It’s never too late to prepare.  Our God is the God of second chances.  You have the power to place not only sex but marriage in its proper place.  You are C. E. O. of the nations.  This is your success strategy for the nations.    Save Sex. Use wisdom in money, power, and relationships.   Pray for Rescue and pray for redeemer in all relationships:  all relationships transformed into a legacy.   You are a strong kingdom.  Have a blessed day!

Abounding in Thanksgiving

Here is a worthy goal:  Abound in thanksgiving.  I thought about what this means.  What does it mean to abound in thanksgiving?  Well, if we think financially, if someone is abounding financially, typically even if they try to hide it,  it is obvious; it is evident in one way or another that this person has wealth, perhaps it is reflected in the way the person is living or in what the person has.  In any case, it's there. In the same way, abounding in thanksgiving means that it is as if a person is wearing thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving can't be hidden; it would be like wearing a bright colored shirt that is so radiant everybody in the can see!  That's what I want!  I want to wear thanksgiving brightly to the point that it's evident for everyone to see and maybe even benefit and latch on to.  I want to have that kind of radiance!

When I walk these days I think of others and what they've done to help me.  I remembered my friend Phil, who thought of me enough to give me two shirts that his family sent to him from Philadelphia.  I remembered to thank my friend Mike who took a video of me as I sang a song of encouragement for a friend in a cafe.  I remembered to thank all those who listened to my songs and gave me encouragement "liking" my songs on Facebook.   I knew that what they did made me feel good, but I'm so thankful to God that I remembered: "Oh, I should thank them!"

Perhaps abounding means that you are not just thankful for each person in your life for one thing only, but you are thankful in a great number of thanks for each person, meaning you can think of more than one thing to be thankful for every one person in one's life.  Here is a definition I found for "abounding":    To have in large number or amounts [of something]. Another way to define abounding is:  more than enough.
Today I am thankful for you and I'm cheering you on!

I'm not a fan of competition, but I think this would be a worthy competition, to see how many ways can you think of the persons in your day to day life, at home, at work, and out passing by, how many items of thanks can you give for each person?

A worthwhile goal:  abound in thanksgiving.
Have a wonderful day!

"Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, ABOUNDING IN THANKSGIVING."  Colossians 2:6-7

Lightening In A Jar

If you could fit the entire population of the world into a village consisting of 100 people,
maintaining the proportions of all the people living on Earth, that village would consist of

57 Asians
21 Europeans
14 Americans (North, Central and South)
8 Africans

There would be:

52 women and 48 men
30 Caucasians and 70 non-Caucasians
30 Christians and 70 non-Christians
89 heterosexuals and
11 homosexuals

6 people would possess 59% of the wealth and they would all come from the USA
80 would live in poverty
70 would be illiterate
50 would suffer from hunger and malnutrition
1 would be being born
1 would own a computer
1 (yes, only one) would have a university degree

If we looked at the world in this way,
the need for acceptance and understanding would be obvious

But, consider again the following:

If you woke up this morning in good health, you have more luck than one million people,
who won't live through the week.

If you have never experienced the horror of war, the solitude of prison, the pain of torture, were not close to death from starvation, then you are better off than 500 million people.

If you can go to your place of worship without fear that
Someone will assault or kill you, then you are luckier than 3 billion (that's right) people.

If you have a full fridge, clothes on your back
a roof over your head and a place to sleep,
you are wealthier than 75% of the world's population.

If you currently have money in the bank, in your wallet and
a few coins in your purse, you are one of 8 of the privileged few
amongst the 100 people in the world.

If your parents are still alive and still married,
you're a rare individual.

If someone sent you this message,
you're extremely lucky,
Because someone is thinking of you
and because you don't comprise one of those 2 billion
people who can't read.

AND SO?

Work like you don't need the money.
Love like nobody has ever hurt you.
Dance like nobody is watching.
Live as if this was paradise on Earth.

HAVE A NICE DAY
