Scriptures I've thought of today

As I was running, these scriptures came to mind : )  Enjoy

Romans 12:2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Luke 12:4-5

"I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him."

 John 8:36

For whom the Son sets free is free indeed

Ezra 10:4

Rise up!  "Rise up; this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it."

It was a very beautiful day today, this morning as I ran.  thank you Jesus!

If you'd like to accept Jesus into your life today, pray this simple prayer of God's love and grace today: Lord Jesus, I thank you for dying for all my sin; now Lord I invite you into my heart. Come and be my everything today and forever. Forgive my sin as I make You and you alone Lord in my life. Amen. Now read the book of God's love in the Bible: The book of John chapters 1-21. Treat Your Wife Well in Jesus Name

Sometimes we think we have a reason to speak harshly to our wives..Well there is no excuse.  My advise to you is stop doing that NOW.    Don't think that you can treat your wife harshly and then you will all of the sudden treat your children with respect.  No, when you are not believing in and treating your wife well you will do this to your entire household as well.   If you want to be a great father, you need to start practicing!   Your wife should be your practice for how you will forgive your children. Yes, your baby can't drive to the side of the house and give you a six hundred dollar damage bill..but if you start treating your child the way you were treating your wife, with resentment, best believe that child will grow up to give you a bill much larger that you won't believe.  Instead of not watching the way you behave now to your wife, invest in your children by treating your wife very well.  Don't get angry with her.  Love her with ALL your heart, praise her ESPECIALLY when it's hard to.  That's what we are supposed to do to our God, ESPECIALLY when things are difficult to do so or say so, we are to PRAISE the LORD with ALL of our hearts!

Speak blessing over your life when you bless the Lord with all of your heart, mind, soul, and strength today!  Bless the Lord!  Bless your wife with your attitude and your words!  Don't wait until you have children to be a kind pappa bear.., no, instead, show that kindness right now!   Practice being kind to others and practice patience, not seeking to win every argument, keep the peace and be wise and gentle.  Show kindness today.  Bless your wife so that you and your family will have a healthy future.

The Old Door Verses The New Door

Man has had a problem of sin since the beginning.  As I was looking into the first and last book of the Bible, there was one thing I noticed that I would like to compare for today.

In the first book of the Bible, in the Old Testament, we heard God say to Kane, after the fall of man when Adam and Even sinned against God, He said "Sin is crouching at your door.."  For all of us we have sin crouching at the door of our hearts and we stand helpless to master it, but we see in the new testament something new.   God, in His grace He sent His one and Only Son into this earth and the Bible says about sin, "We [man kind] like sheep have gone astray; each of us has turned to his own way, but God has laid upon Him [that is Jesus] the iniquity [the sins] of us all."  Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty of all our sin and he purchased a place for us in heaven above.  That's not it! And on the third day Jesu rose again from the grave and he sits at the right hand of God the Father ALMIGHTY.

Now, what does the last book of the Bible, in the New Testimony, in Revelations, say about what is at the door of all of our hearts?  Who stands at the door now of every man?  The Bible says this: "Behold,

I, that is Jesus

stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person and they with me."

Hallelujah!!!  Praise you Jesus!!

So, wait, what happened to our sin?  They are gone!  Jesus took our sins, and the only that is left now is Jesus at the door of all of our hearts.   Behold, he stands at the door and is knocking.  Your sins are forgiven.  They are gone; they are no more.  You won't find them there now.  But you will find Jesus who stand at the door and knocks.   Won't you answer the door today and receive the full forgiveness of your sins today.

God promises He will guide your life. Pray and ask God to bring the right people into your life. God will guide you to the right church full of people who love His words in the Bible. Our God is so faithful. God bless you today.

The "Not Yet, Not Enough" Mentality Vs. The "Always More Than Enough" Mentality

More Than Enough : )

First:  The "Not Enough Yet" type Mentality

I have to admit that I have not been good at having the right attitude concerning this subject.  The Bible says that God is "More than enough", but so often we face a problem.  There is a such thing as a mentality of "More than enough."  Can I ask you a question?  Do you believe that God is more than enough for you?  Something interesting happened to me when I found that my thinking was not necessarily in this area.  I was always thinking, "not yet", or "one day..."  I thought, "One day I'll have enough" or "one day I will have enough...but not today, not yet; I don't have enough yet.." Little did I realize that this kind of thinking was affecting my every day.., so that "enough" never comes.  Also, most importantly, it was affecting the way I treated most of the people around me including myself.  I felt that all I had to offer "wasn't enough yet" even though I gave my life to Christ and was believing in Him for salvation; I thought that abundant living was not something I deserved "yet".  I thought that who I was and what I had to offer, "just wasn't enough yet."  Little did I realize that this also was affecting the way I was treating others... I loved others, but I didn't realize I was having an underlining attitude of, "Yeah, what you do and what you are giving me is nice, but not quite enough yet..." Little did I realize that this was, in a way, my attitude towards God!  That was my attitude towards everything and everyone including myself and it was greatly affecting the way I behaved all the time.  After realizing that this didn't feel good, not for me nor for anybody else, I've come to see that it's not the way that I as one of God's wonderfully chosen people are to treat anybody so I asked God to take my attitude of not enough.

Second:  The "Always More Than Enough" Mentality

I learned that this prayer is a lot more dangerous than it looks. : )  When I prayed that prayer, something interesting happened to me.  Let me tell you what I thought was going to happen.  I thought that by asking God for more than enough, it would launch me into getting more than enough goodness from God and from others in my life, and I believe to a smaller extent then previously though of, that this is true, but I wasn't prepared to receive what God was going to give me after that prayer.

I was very surprised on the day I prayed this prayer to God.  It felt really good when I said, "Ok, God from now on I'm going to start believing that you are more than enough!"  After I prayed that prayer, something interesting happened to me.  I performed praise and worship at a "bring a friend" church service cookout about a half hour out of my city area, already after leading our praise and worship service in the morning, so I was a little tired.  After I played the praise and worship at this afternoon event, a man from the church stepped on the stage and asked everyone for an offering in exchange for some cup cakes; he was raffling and just expecting a couple of dollars extra with the leftover cupcakes from the cake walk they had to raise money for the church.  Usually, I would over look such a request, but this time, for some odd reason, I just couldn't shake this feeling to give this man twenty dollars, even though I had already given my church tithe.., even though just an hour ago  I had agreed with my wife to give a hundred dollars to a family in need, and even though I wasn't really hungry for cake and the cake didn't really look like it was worth twenty dollars!  I ignored the voice (that is the conviction I was feeling) for a while, but I couldn't shake it for long!  I thought to myself, "God, I did enough! I didn't even have to come all the way over to this church that is out of town today! I already played praise and worship at my own church this morning! It's Sunday! And I just want to rest!  I went to this place to perform, isn't that enough?"  But God said to me, "You prayed to believe in a God who is more than enough. So I want you to have the same character as you believe that I am."  It literally blew my mind that I had been praying for God to be this or that, not realizing that this is the character God was expecting His people to resemble here on earth.  We often pray, "God, Your Kingdom come. Your will be done. On earth as it is in Heaven," But how often do we realize that we are to be the resemblance, in his likeness here on earth as it is in heaven by the power of His Holy Spirit's work in us to show His love to others, proving to this world that Christ is alive and truly in us?   I immediately took out one of my "thank you" cards, put a twenty in one of them and went directly to the mailbox to give the church his money.

What's the moral of the story?  Be careful what you wish for! Just kidding!  Understand that God wants the best for you and His character is the best for you :) Pray for the grace to accept being used as His instrument in His likeness here on this earth as it is in heaven.  I pray God will bless you today as you walk uniquely in the attitude of His Only Son, Jesus Christ today.

God promises He will guide your life. Pray and ask God to bring the right people into your life. God will guide you to the right church full of people who love His words in the Bible. Extra Notes : )

Even that evening, I was feeling the same thing when I visited my sister on that same Sunday evening.  Going to visit my sister on Sunday after already traveling 45 minutes out of town to play worship at a place where I didn't "have to" be at to perform in the first place was already what I considered a challenge, and then God tests me again. : ) My sister, Tiffanie's friend, David was also there to visit Tiffanie.  He had a business card that he had for Tiffanie that he left in his car.  When I was ready to go, he asked if he could give the card to me so I could give it to her later.  That means that I would either have to go with him out to the car and come all the way back to the sixth floor to give a small little card back to my sister or I would have to take the card from him and try to remember to give to my sister at some later day which I was too busy to do. The way Tiffanie's friend is, very kind and humble, you want to do him a favor so I agreed to go with him to his car.  David game me the business card and I could feel this conviction saying, "Jeremy, go back and give to Tiffanie the business card.."  I thought, "God, I have already been out of town, lead praise and worsihp twice today, visited my pastor, visited my sister...Can't I just not give this card to my sister today?"  But the conviction was so strong, so I said, "Okay!"  I walked up and my sister was delighted to see me and she took the business card.

Reigning Attitude Vs Reactive Attitude on Life

When you were born, you were born a child of THE MOST HIGH.   But most people will treat life as if their life was dependent on their environment.  The truth is God did not make us to live life based on our surroundings, God made us to reign there.  In other words, God made us to positively change the environment.  That is what makes us children of God.  That is what separates us from animals and other creatures on this earth.  We were made to reign.

Now, if we have a reigning attitude, we will think differently about everything!  When we run across obstacles, we will not say, "Well, that's just the way it is." or "Well, that's just life I guess," or "that's just not the way it works..."   No! We are supposed to respect our environment, yes, but we don't have to accept all of our environment just because we see it as is...what we don't realize is this:  The environment is waiting for us to use it to our advantage, to carry out the purpose God placed in our hearts for it to accomplish, not as an excuse.   Don't just react to your environment; change your environment.  Reign in your environment!

The true is this: we have no excuse because we are at NO disadvantages. The truth is this: we have all we need and more in fact to accomplish what God put us on this earth to accomplish.  We are, therefore, without excuse, and that's a good thing!  We are placed on this earth to reign; now let's reign! Let's support ourselves to successfully accomplish the goals God placed in our hearts to accomplish today. : )

I pray for your to reign today :)

If you'd like to accept Jesus into your life today, pray this simple prayer of God's love and grace today: Lord Jesus, I thank you for dying for all my sin; now Lord I invite you into my heart. Jesus Christ is Lord Over My Direction

Jesus is Lord (Insert Period here)

Being confident of this, that HE who began a good work in me will carry it out unto completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

I spoke with Alex from the American Language Institute department today and it appears that I have some decisions to make.  These decisions are related to or not related to my jobs. But i am reminded of that one thing (look above).

Performance Vs Identity

We are always tempted with performance; to receive something we already have based on who we already are.  It is not necessary to perform for performance sake.  We are because God is.  God says, "Be still and know that I am God."  We are a child of the King.  I've learned this:  No need to perform, ever.  When we do, we do it out of knowing who we are and out of a desire to glorify God with compassion for His people from the inside.

See how Jesus performed a miracle and why, when he did perform.  Throughout the Bible notice the emotions that Jesus felt before he "performed" a miracle: It was out of

COMPASSION.

and why does it mention these things?   The motive.  The motive is very important and it is noted in heaven what are motives are.   Jesus never "performed" out of anything but mercy and grace.   Note one important thing:  every "performance" Jesus had done and is doing is based off of compassion and came from His very being who He already is.

With you it is the same.  Every temptation is that is common to man is this to perform to do something to get something we already have based on the child of God we already are.

You are a child of the most High God : )  How amazing is the fact that we are God's child made already in His very image!

Read Matthew 4:1-11

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a] by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”

4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:

“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’”
7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”

8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”

10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’”

11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him."

Know who you are and live in who you are, not performing.  You are His.  You are loved.  That is your identity : )

Invest in the Kingdom of God

Did you know that investing in the Kingdom of God means simply this:  Invest in doing good to people in Jesus' name.   That's what it means.  Invest in people, spending time with people, making people laugh, loving people, giving them genuine hugs and listening to them, and caring for them.  Care about what people are up to.  Give them peace in Jesus' name.  Amen.

Have a blessed day!

Building Vs. Digging

Some of us in life are meant to build and some of us, our role is to dig the foundation for those who will come after us.  Often you find in the Bible that one generation digs while the next generation builds. Moses built the foundation while Joshua built the building.  David established the kingdom while Solomon built the temple on the kingdom that David established.  Isaac dug wells while his son Jacob laid the foundation of the entire nation.

The disciples of Jesus established the physical church, while Apostle Paul helped sustain it with knowledge of the Gospel.  And who is Jesus?  Jesus is the living Word who established us all and set our feet on solid ground.

We all have a role, a legacy.  We all have specific roles in this life because we are all the body.  The hand shakes hands with a person, but it's the feet that brings them to the person to shake hands with.  We usually have conflict with these two idealistic figures in our lives.  Some of us may want to build when we haven't dug a foundation yet; this takes patience and understanding.   Some of us discover the foundation that we are on and must start building.   Some of us find a project already in works and our job is to help dig the foundation. Some of us are helping someone else build the structure because the foundation is already set. Sounds good.  These are all very noble and worthy tasks. Use your gut to understand the difference and your role in the big picture.

*Note:  There is a time to tear down and a time to rebuild.  Read about Noah and Sampson who were interestingly instrumental in God's tearing down projects.  Abraham witnesses a tearing down project (Genesis 22:4).  To see a rebuilding project, see the book of Nehemiah.  Revelations describes the ultimate tearing down and rebuilding to prepare for (also read Luke 17:20-30).  I can hear our Lord saying to all of us though today: KEEP DIGGING because there is much work to do!

God bless you as you go and do his work today! : )

If you'd like to accept Jesus into your life today, pray this simple prayer of God's love and grace today: Lord Jesus, I thank you for dying for all my sin; now Lord I invite you into my heart. "A Feeling" Vs. A Calling

More than a feeling.

Let's examine this:   A feeling is something that comes and goes; it's temporal.  If you have a feeling that won't go away about something related to a talent,a dream or desire...look into it.  That desire is not just a feeling, it's often like God calling your name; that's a calling.  Look at the life of Samuel when he was called.

"The Lord called Samuel. Samuel answered, “Here I am.” And he ran to Eli [the priest] and said, “Here I am; you called me." But Eli said, “I did not call; go back and lie down.” So he went and lay down. Again the Lord called, “Samuel!” And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.” “My son,” Eli said, “I did not call; go back and lie down.” Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord: The word of the Lord had not yet been revealed to him. A third time the Lord called, “Samuel!” And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me." Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy." (1 Samuel 3:4-8)

Pray about that joyous "feeling" deep in your heart that fills you with life every time you exercise it.  Know that something like this is more than just a feeling.  This is a passion! This is a calling!  Read the rest of 1 Samuel.  See how God is calling you as well.  :)
