Being Okay With Second Place

For so long, I have been trying to be first place and for some reason it has felt like I was for so long swimming up stream.  Often I get so confused and tired, not knowing what to do.  Here's my problem:  I had for so long been trying to be first place that I wasn't okay with letting other people be first place in my life.  There are times where God wants others to be first place and God wants to see how we treat those people.   When you're trying to be first place it's a very lonely road because you can't see anyone but yourself.

My problem was, I was never meant to be in first place.  When I was eighteen, I gave up my right up to be first place.  I gave it up to Jesus.  I gave Him the crown and the award.  He was always meant to be first place in my life.  Even though I was never meant to be first place, because I was trying to be first place, and I couldn't see all the people around me that God wanted me to bless and be a blessing to often in my life.  I missed out a lot!  I'm just realizing now how much God put the blessing in me, but not for me!   Now I don't want to miss out on so many blessing because I was too busy trying to be blessed myself.

I was so self-absorbed that I missed out on God's best so many times and now I'm asking you to not miss God's best for you.  Bless others.  Think about what God wants to do in their life through yours.  During your down time pray for others.  Be servant minded.  Pray for others like it's nobody's business.  Pray for your students.  Pray for your friends.  Pray for your cousins.  Pray for people even if you think you'll never meet them in real life.  Pray for them.  Be second place for somebody else today.

If you'd like to accept Jesus into your life today, pray this simple prayer of God's love and grace today: Lord Jesus, I thank you for dying for all my sin; now Lord I invite you into my heart. Come and be my everything today and forever. Forgive my sin as I make You and you alone Lord in my life. Amen. Now read the book of God's love in the Bible: The book of John chapters 1-21. God promises He will guide your life. Pray and ask God to bring the right people into your life. God will guide you to the right church full of people who love His words in the Bible. Our God is so faithful. God bless you today.
