24 Ways I pray to GROW UP!

Here are twenty-four ways I need to grow up.  I thought about this again after these instructions came in my heart:  Before you go in to work, REJOICE!  After after you finish work, conceal the work experience by reading one scripture; then go in your home and give your best to your family!  Whether I am doing these things now or whenever, I know that I will need to observe these things to be successful in my practical life I think for the rest of my life.  Look at them and see if there are any that you would add for yourself?

1. Don't eat unhealthily after 8pm.
2. Make the Lord your ultimate counselor
3. Take responsibility for all of your actions
4. Volunteer to help others; learn not to expect money in return
5. Be comfortable and patient to endure a little pain every now and then; always expect positive results from it.
6. Find the good out of everything without complaint
7. Don't point the finger, ever
8. Stay away from sweets and overdosing on sugars, stay metabolically balanced and focused.
9. Simplify your life and your work
10. Be focused and consistent to do the things that will really matter in the end and do those things consistently for the rest of your life.
11. Forgive, just forgive
12. Help people know what to expect from you
13. Offer your talents and abilities to the world without hesitation and without high demand for repayment. Never wait to do it.  Just do it.
14. Don't wait to plan for the practical things of life.
15. Begin healthy habits of saving, investing, using leverage, managing and stewarding what you've been given.
16. Always know what belongings you have.  If you find this difficult to do, this may mean you have too much and should consider selling what extra you have until you find it easy to manage and recall all there is physically that you have.
17. Be willing
18. Stay in your circle. Make sure that circle pushes you to go outside your box.
19. Monitor your amount of rest.
20. When you exercise, wisely push yourself a little beyond your limits every time.
21. Remember to talk to yourself, say I am blessed with favor! to brighten your day.
22. Remember to talk to strangers (cashiers, fellow customers in line at the grocery store, the bank, the office) and brighten their day.
23. Remember to smile. :)
24. Practice.  Always prepare before you do something, whether big or small. Give something better than regular or off the cuff. Deliver quality and make the experience memorable and enjoyable for everybody.
*Review.  Survey what you have done and be thankful and be willing to improve.

If you'd like to accept Jesus into your life today, pray this simple prayer of God's love and grace today: Lord Jesus, I thank you for dying for all my sin; now Lord I invite you into my heart. Come and be my everything today and forever. Forgive my sin as I make You and you alone Lord in my life. Amen. Now read the book of God's love in the Bible: The book of John chapters 1-21. God promises He will guide your life. Pray and ask God to bring the right people into your life. God will guide you to the right church full of people who love His words in the Bible. Our God is so faithful. God bless you today.

Our Sacrifice and Our Worship

Our Sacrifice and Our Worship

Sacrifice and worship work in an interesting way.   Look in Exodus. The Bible records how the Israelites worshiped the golden calf, which I thought was very interesting because they did not realize that the very thing they are worshiping is the very type of thing they need to be sacrificing for atonement.  Later, Moses gives them the direction to make sacrifices of a certain animal for the atonement of their sins.   So instead of worshiping animals they were to sacrifice them to remain in fellowship with God.   It is often that way with us.  Jesus became God's sacrificial lamb that was sacrificed so we can focus on God who gave Jesus for us.   Jesus is God in the flesh who gave his life for our sin once and for all so that we could be connected with God forever to worship Him forever by grace and faith in God and the Lord Jesus who God provided.  This is so that forever the center of our focus can be on God through grace and faith in Jesus.  Jesus gave his life as a living sacrifice so that his life could be used by God.    We have to remember this when survey our talents, our abilities and other things we could be fooled to depend on if we are not careful.   Take me, for example, I could worship my guitar, but I realize I need to sacrifice it to be used for God for it to bear any lasting and real fruit in my life.  Abraham had Isaac, but Abraham needed to sacrifice Isaac deep in his heart in order for him to be officially used by God to bless the nations.  So in the same way, we must check the heart to make sure the things that we desire in our life are not the things we are worshiping but the things that we are constantly sacrificing to God to be used by God for God's purposes.  The point of this sacrifice is so that we can keep and sustain the main object and focus of our worship, which is Jesus, God's purpose for our lives.

That is why, things that we desire, we must always remember to sacrifice them to God so that our main focus of worship can and always will be to God who is Lord of All.   Let's pray for one another to have a fixed desire of our worship on Jesus.  He is worthy of all our worship and all our praise.

Two Great Gifts

Sometimes, I'm not sure if I should write some things down or just meditate on them, but these two things are too great for me to ignore; I feel like I really want to write these two things down.

First: I am not to pursue greatness.

I had to really, really repent today of this after I discovered through the Holy Spirit how much the enemy had been tricking us with this.   I discovered that I was testing myself over and over again to pursue greatness instead of pursuing Jesus, who is alone great.  I kept thinking, "Oh, man, if I don't do this then I will never be great."  I realized that the more I was trying to do things to become great the further I was steering myself away from true greatness.  Jesus said, "The greatest among you will be your servant." Matthew 23:11 because he knew that we, I think especially men, will have to deal with this;  but we are not to pursue greatness for ourselves.

The Bible says, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,"  Philippians 2:3 Let's pray for each other.  I really had to repent badly today because the devil had been dangling "greatness" in my face that I thought I had to run mile after mile, and terrible things to be great, not realizing that I was never made to pursue greatness the way the world desires it.   No, but I am to pursue Jesus.  The greatest life it is the pursuit of Christ and Christ alone who is greatest.  This must be our only heart's desire.

Second:  I am accepted

Today, I realized even more that I am accepted by God.  This is kind of related to the first one.  I am accepted and I am to share this fact with others.  Jesus really does accept me and love me and I will never be rejected by him.  I grew up around many people who felt rejected, it's hard to know really why.   But deep down they had been feeling rejected either by society or by each other, and those things really affected me when I was young.  I felt insecure of myself because I felt like I needed to do something to be accepted and I didn't know why.  I think when I was young I really fell in love with Jesus because I know that He will never leave me nor reject me.   With Jesus I am free to walk with him and his love is for me.   Jesus set me free and tells me daily that I am fully accepted by God.  I lost the need or desire to do this or that in order to feel accepted; instead I'm excited about my life and what God has in store for me.  What about you?  How is God speaking to you today?  How is he showing you a deeper part of His love in Him?  Spend some time with him and let him bring you a deeper sense of who He is.  Feel free to message me.  I would love to hear from you. It really is encouraging to hear that God is using this to touch people's lives.  God bless you today!

Come and be my everything today and forever. Forgive my sin as I make You and you alone Lord in my life. Amen. Now read the book of God's love in the Bible: The book of John chapters 1-21. Incredible Belief in Him. :)

Today, we put no trust in ourselves, that is our own ability, whether we are at the "right place" at the "right time" or not.  We believe and trust in the Ability of Almighty God who's presence stretches from sky to sky and throughout all time, even before time began.  Simeon, a servant of the Lord, was waiting for the Lord and heard from the Lord that he would not die until he saw the coming of the Lord.   He did not worry about if he would be at the right place at the right time.  He wasn't worried about the fact that he could easily go out for a lunch and, opps, "miss out on God's best" for his life. Simeon was not worried about that because he held on to one important truth:  That God's promise was all he needed to hold on to.  God's word is and was not based on Simeon but rather on God's faithfulness.  God was to be his focus, not himself. Jesus was Simeon's hope and that is what he focused on.  I pray that you focus on Jesus today and you'll find that you will be at the right place at the right time.  I promise you that you will see the coming of the Savior in clouds of God and you will declare that Jesus is King of kings and Lord of lords.  Confess it today!  God bless you!

Wrapped in a Cocoon of Blessing

Today, I feel like I am wrapped in a safe cocoon of His blessings.

Today, the most amazing thing:   I met with Dr. Coleman today and I needed a History of English class because I bombed the last class.  This was a real work on my pride because of my attitude in his class while I was there.  I had no good work ethic and my attitude was really poor.  The grace this man showed me was incredible!  He allowed me to take an independent study with Him this semester.  I praise and I thank God!  He did not have to do it, but he helped me and I have him to thank for his great GREAT mercy on me!

Now I understand that NONE OF THIS and none of this stuff happened because of me, but my degree happened because somebody really really had mercy on me.  I am not all that, in fact, I had failed, but where I failed, God stepped in and he saved me!  He picked me up from the pit!  He picked me up and set me up on a higher ground.  Now I know I am not here on my own, but by the graceful hand of God I am here.  Let me always remember this.  Someone had mercy on me.  Let me always remember that God's grace is the ONLY reason why I have the things that I have.  God help me to walk humbly before you every day.  Help me not to take any short cuts to try and get ahead in life, but be patient and wait for God.  Also, I may know that I am not always right, always having it together.  Lord, thank you for helping me with my foolish, self-defeating pride.  God how else can I turn over my pride to you?  Here I am God.  I am yours.

My prayer for more FOCUS (January through May 2015)

I want to say THANK YOU to God for bringing me into 2015!  This is going to be an incredible year of thanksgiving and praise!  We WILL praise the Lord and give him thanks and praise for what He has done and what he will do for us this 2015 year.

I repeat: This is a year of praise! I declare this day and this year a year of praise and thanksgiving to God for all He has done for us!  I want to thank God this year!

Thinking about this year, the verse Luke 16:10 comes to mind:

"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much"

I want to confess that many times the heart behind all my actions could have been more focused.  Now I declare that all and every little or great thing done in my life is done for the gospel and for the gospel of Jesus Christ alone. Will you stand with me in this declare?

That said, here are my goals for this year 2015!
