Obedience is a Discipline

Obedience is a muscle.  And leadership is a pure attitude about yourself, the person who God made.

I used to say to myself, "Well, if I knew what God wanted, then I could practice obedience," I was upset because God would not reveal to me the "dream" that I need to pursue, so I would say, "God, if you would show me what I should do with my life, then I would obey you!"  but I realize it was the lack of regard to his laws that he has already established that cause delay of all of my dreams.  For example, being in debt delays that freedom we can have to open up other opportunities, relationships, and time to accomplish the dreams that God has placed in my heart.   The truth is God has given enough structure to me to daily practice plenty obedience. Obeying the law of the land is one example.  Obeying the Ten Commandments is also an example.  Most of all to love God and love others is the greatest form of obedience that I need to practice daily and grow and grow in this area.  My dream is a privilege. Great stewardship, not luck or even great passion, is what will open up the dream..  I forget that my dreams accomplished without first practicing obedience to God, loving God and loving others doesn't fly and is not worth the pursuit.  Obedience to God creates true rich opportunities to freely serve Him in all and every way.

God, help me to serve you by first obeying your laws and until then, help me to pause my "dreams" and trust that it will all happen in your time.  Help me to exercise my obedience to you in every way with diligence and not laziness.  Give me a productive faithful heart to obey your laws and faithfully purse your grace in Jesus Christ.

If you'd like to accept Jesus into your life today, pray this simple prayer of God's love and grace today: Lord Jesus, I thank you for dying for all my sin; now Lord I invite you into my heart. Come and be my everything today and forever. Forgive my sin as I make You and you alone Lord in my life. Amen. Now read the book of God's love in the Bible: The book of John chapters 1-21. God promises He will guide your life. Pray and ask God to bring the right people into your life. God will guide you to the right church full of people who love His words in the Bible. Our God is so faithful. God bless you today.
