Seek the Kingdom Today :)

I left for a walk and realized something.

Give me today my daily bread.  The Bible doesn't ask us to pray, "Give us tomorrow" but "Give us today"  Give us today our daily bread, my daily tasks, (thank you for giving to us today, God!) what I have for today give to me.  If I am trying too hard to know everything for my future it may mean that we are trying to give ourselves tomorrow.  But the Bible says, "Seek first His Kingdom and everything else will be given to you."  (See Mathew 6:33)  We try and try and try to give to ourselves not realizing that we were never made to give things to ourselves the things that only God can give us. So where is our desire supposed to be and supposed to stay?  That is correct:  His Kingdom and His Righteousness.  That is what we were made for.  Pray to God and ask Him to teach you how to seek His Kingdom and His righteousness.  Do you know Jesus?  Do you want to know Jesus today?  Don't be concerned about what job you will have, what car you will drive, what career choice you need to have.  Instead get in line with God and encourage others to do so as well because we were all made for knowing and pursuing God.  Let's pray for this today.  We are made to seek His kingdom.  We flourish when we seek his kingdom and make the "other things" none of our business except to thank God for and to ask God would use those things to further His kingdom even more.  God wants to use what you have not the things you don't have because God doesn't want to use what we don't have, but what we have to do a miracle for His kingdom (see Matthew 14:13-21) so we can have a testimony that will further His kingdom.

You know what gives me confidence? Knowing God.  Do you think about what you need to do to meet the right people and go to the right places?  In God there is no need of either because God will make people like you and God will bring you to the right places.  Trust God and get to know Him first.  Let ALL your confidence come from not the right blog, the right social web site, the right church with the coolest people, or the right job and let your confidence only come from God and knowing Him.  The other stuff should be worth dung in comparison to knowing Christ. Say, "My confidence comes from knowing God in Jesus Christ."

If you'd like to accept Jesus into your life today, pray this simple prayer of God's love and grace today: Lord Jesus, I thank you for dying for all my sin; now Lord I invite you into my heart. Come and be my everything today and forever. Forgive my sin as I make You and you alone Lord in my life. Amen. Now read the book of God's love in the Bible: The book of John chapters 1-21. God promises He will guide your life. Pray and ask God to bring the right people into your life. God will guide you to the right church full of people who love His words in the Bible. Our God is so faithful. God bless you today.
