He Said, "Go and Sin No More." Explained.

(See John 8)

Jesus was there at the face of choosing condemnation for this woman caught in the act of adultery, or mercy. And you know what?  God chose mercy.  Jesus knelt down at the suspense of this woman's accusers and he wrote something down.  We don't know what Jesus wrote, but we know that he wrote words of mercy for this woman.  Jesus said, "He who is without sin, be the first to throw the stone."   The Bible says they all went away starting from oldest to youngest.  When they all left, this woman was left with no one but Jesus and his disciples.  Jesus said, "Woman, where are your accusers?"  They are all gone.  Jesus told her, I do not condemn you either, now go and sin no more. (John 8:11)

There is something really REALLY important to see here.  I think many people think that Jesus said to her, "Go and sin no more." But they think that what Jesus means by that is, "Now, you were a very bad, terrible, terrible person! Now go and try not to screw things up again! Try not to make a mess of your life again pleeeease. Now good luck with all that!"   But that is NOT was Jesus was saying. That is not why Jesus did what he did here.  Let's look into this.

What Jesus did here is really super important for us to understand.  What Jesus was saying to her by saying, "Go and sin no more."  Is,  Here is a person who believes in you my dear. I know what God has for you.  You see, I know that the accuser was trying to condemn you. He was there every day trying to beat you down.  The accuser was beating you down and beating you down so you were unable to live the life God wants for you to please God. But now I release you from that life!  You are free! Now GO! You have my power with you now.  You have my seal over the rest of your life now! Now GO! You have my permission to go and sin no more.  You have my power to go and live a truly powerful life! You are reconnected with God and you have my seal of approval. You are now filled with the grace to go free of sin and shame in your life.  You are new! You are made new!  Now go!

I think that's a message for us.  We need to now go!  Look ahead! There is a bright! Bright life for you because of Jesus in our lives!

HALLELUJAH! This is what Jesus does for us!  He doesn't condemn us when we come to him. He frees us and gives us His seal of approval, the permission, and the power to live a victoriously in our life to His glory alone!

Now you have my permission to go and be victorious in every area of your life to the glory and purpose of God Almighty! God be glorified in your life all day today. Amen :)

If you'd like to accept Jesus into your life today, pray this simple prayer of God's love and grace today: Lord Jesus, I thank you for dying for all my sin; now Lord I invite you into my heart. Come and be my everything today and forever. Forgive my sin as I make You and you alone Lord in my life. Amen. Now read the book of God's love in the Bible: The book of John chapters 1-21. God promises He will guide your life. Pray and ask God to bring the right people into your life. God will guide you to the right church full of people who love His words in the Bible. Our God is so faithful. God bless you today.
