You Can Do It! :)

Listen, NOTHING shall be impossible for you!  You can do it!  You need to repeat that!  Yes, I can do all things through Christ, the Son of God, the Son of the Most High, The one is who was and is and is to come, that man that strengthens me is not just a man.  He is God!  He is both Lord and God.

"The joy of the Lord is my strength."  Nehemiah 8:10

If you'd like to accept Jesus into your life today, pray this simple prayer of God's love and grace today: Lord Jesus, I thank you for dying for all my sin; now Lord I invite you into my heart. Come and be my everything today and forever. Forgive my sin as I make You and you alone Lord in my life. Amen. Now read the book of God's love in the Bible: The book of John chapters 1-21. God promises He will guide your life. Pray and ask God to bring the right people into your life. God will guide you to the right church full of people who love His words in the Bible. Our God is so faithful. God bless you today.

Fixing Our Eyes Back on Jesus During these times

This may be one of the hardest times to focus on Jesus in the mist of all of life's twists and turns.  But here are some directions for today:

1. Pay attention to what you are thinking about the most.

We need to stop and think often about what you are thinking about.

Isaiah 26: You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

Deuteronomy 11:18 (NIV),”Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds.”

2 Corinthians 4:18 (NIV), “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

When we find ourselves focused on one thing more than Jesus and the things of Christ alone, we need to stop and recalibrate our focus back on what matters:  Jesus.

2. During this time when people attach much emotion to political events, we need to monitor our emotions and make sure that our greatest emotional reactions are above all, hands down, devoted to the Cross and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.  If not, it's time to recalibrate.

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe in this?" John 11:25-26

"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." 1 Co 1:18

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." 1 Peter 1:3

3. Fix our minds on Christ.  Train our emotions to be devoted to Christ.  And third we fix our mission back to and centered on Christ alone.

In this time, it is easy to make our purpose or agenda to being agents for political and structural change and that is okay because we need political leaders who love Jesus in the political office, but that kind of decision needs to be a decision not based sudden reaction.  Our mission can not be based solely on what we think or based solely on our emotions.   We need to always base our goals and mission on the word of God through silent, fervent and quiet prayer time with the Lord.

If you feel like you need to flip the world upside down after getting upset over a media commercial, that is not the way God generally speaks to us.  We need to get alone with God and recenter our attention on Him first.  We need to get our direction from God in the stillness of quiet and prayer that is focused on adoring Jesus Christ.  To do that we need to ask God to help us  devote all our heart mind soul and strength to Jesus again and again.  We receive our direction after seeking first God's kingdom and His righteousness (see Matthew 6:33).

Let's focus on Jesus during this time, because our goals as Christians ought not to be political change first, but soul transformation first,  Let's pray to stay focused on the kingdom and the gospel of Jesus Christ first always.  Jesus is the hope of the world now and forever more.  Let's fix our eyes upon Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.  Thank God for Jesus!  Thank God that for the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Praise You Jesus for loving me so much that you laid down your life to save me.  Help us in these times, LORD,  to fix our eyes on Jesus Christ and call upon His name.

Amen.

To Americans currently having a "Bruce Willis' Sixth Sense" Experience...

Before the election, a number of Americans were on board with a message of peace.  They were proud to be apart of a group that does not incite violence and division.  Now that the election is over many are responding in a curious way.

In the movie, "The Sixth Sense" a boy sees people who had already passed away.  (spoiler alert!!) Bruce Willis is apart of these people and doesn't even know it.  He asked the boy about this and doesn't like what he is hearing.  He'd probably prefer that these occurrences stop, but he later discovers that he is apart of the phenomenon that his fervently dislikes.

I think that a number of Americans are having a similar experience currently.  They spoke about stopping violence and being apart of peace, but they are acting in a way that now promotes the violence and division they disliked and do not realize they are becoming the problem.  I am not saying there is a time to fight for what you believe; I'm saying there is a way to do it that does not reflect the very thing you dislike.

What do we need?  We need to pray and do some soul searching.  We need to stop and think about what we are doing and how it is affecting those around us.  Let's really pray, do some soul-searching and figure out what we need to focus on that will help bring more peace to us and to those around us.  I suggest we don't focus on the violence of anybody and instead focus on the solutions and working together to bring about a better world and we will not find that we are apart of the problem, but we are not apart of the experience.

My Reaction to Trump as President (Reminds me EXACTLY of The Little Red Hen; read it)

I really have so much to say.

First, this is a very historic time.  I am not sure to rejoice with all of the supporters or to try and help my friends to calm the heck down.  Inside, I am so happy.  It is amazing to see a candidate that no one seemed to want fight and win against the odds.

First, again, I am not a fan of the media and I don't rejoice just because Trump won.  I rejoice because I completely dislike how the media is one-sided and did not represent the opinion of the people in a very comprehensive and balanced way.  I am so happy to sit back and watch CNN, ABC, and all the celebrities complain because they tried, in a very biased manner, to push people to follow what they wanted them to follow and it didn't work.

I watched first hand the differences between Fox News and the other news channels and believe me it was not the same.  It was obvious how Fox was trying their hardest to be more balanced than the other news channels and they were also the only channel, in my opinion, to objectively support what trump is doing..

This is a happy day for people who do not like the media, pundits, pollsters, the establishment, and all others related.  That is why this is a happy day for me.  People are afraid; and this kind of fear (and I think a good fear) is exactly what our country needs right now.  Proof was in the belligerent maligning of Donald Trump so opening and conceitedly, which occurred all over the country; that was simply not right.  I sat (quietly mind you) in classrooms where the professor OPENLY maligned Donald Trump to their students, egging them on to join in.  Now in the place of open maligning we will get fear, and what I think is a healthy fear.

Trump received none of the superficial support, so now, this to me is like the story of the Little Red Hen where thankfully these people, the cat (pundits), the dog, (media), and the billy goat (pollsters) will be ashamed to give any of their twisted assistance from today on.   I suggest everyone read the story of the Little Red Hen and that basically sums up this journey for Donald J. Trump.

Congratulations, Sir.

Little Red Hen

On a bright sunny day, all the animals said,
"Wouldn't it be nice to have some bread?"

The little red hen and her chicks of ten
They started to lead the way.

"Who will help me plant some seed?"
Said the Little Red Hen to her animal friends.

"Not I," said the cat.  "Not I," said the dog,
"Not I," said the billy goat.

So the hen and her chicks did all the work
While her animal friends did nothing, but smirk.

They planted all the seed.

"Who will help me cut the wheat?"
Said the little red hen to her animal friends.

"Not I," said the cat.  "Not I," said the dog,
"Not I," said the billy goat.

So the hen and her chicks did all the work
While her animal friends did nothing, but smirk.

They cut down all the wheat.

"Who will help me mill the wheat?"
Said the little red hen to her animal friends.

"Not I," said the cat.  "Not I," said the dog,
"Not I," said the billy goat.

So the hen and her chicks did all the work
while her animal friends did nothing, but smirk.

They milled that wheat to flour.

"Who will help me bake some bread?"
Said the little red hen to her animal friends.

"Not I," said the cat.  "Not I," said the dog.
"Not I," said the billy goat.

So the hen and her chicks did all the work
while her animal friends did nothing, but smirk.

They turned that flour to bread.

"Who will help me eat the bread?"
Said the little red hen to her animal friends.

"I will," said the cat.  "I will," said the dog.
"I will," said the billy goat.

But the little red hen just shook her head
And she told them that they had to work for bread.

The cat felt ashamed, the dog felt to blame
and so did the billy goat.

So the hen and her chicks ate all the bread
while her animal friends just watched instead.

Next time there's a task, you won't need to ask
the cat, dog, and billy goat.
