Find Out Who The Story is REALLY About...AND ITS NOT YOU

Read: 2 Samuel 15 through 18.

We need to learn from the story about Absalom.  Absalom worked to promote himself, but he did not realize that the story isn't about him.  The story is about his dad, David. So he would do better to honor his father instead of seeking to promote himself.

In the same way, we need to know who the story is about in our lives, and be humble enough to admit it and stop trying to make it all about us!

We need to realize who this story is about and be smart enough to make it all about that person!  Who knows!  There may be a reward in it for the one who honors the one who this is all about anyway!  The employee will do well to make sure that the boss or the president is being honored!

In my story, I realize that it is not about me, but it is all about Jesus!  Now, I need to learn how I can honor Him over myself.  I need to stop, look around, and listen to the Good Shepherd. I need to ask the Shepherd and hear what he is saying to me and be willing to listen.  The story's not really about me.  It's about Him.  It's about Jesus.

We need to know who the story is about in our lives, and be humble enough to admit it and stop trying to make it all about us!

God, I honor you today.  I lift up your name.  Father, I know that my life was made for your glory.  Teach me to give glory to You daily.  In Jesus' name I pray.  Amen.

If you'd like to accept Jesus into your life today, pray this simple prayer of God's love and grace today: Lord Jesus, I thank you for dying for all my sin; now Lord I invite you into my heart. Come and be my everything today and forever. Forgive my sin as I make You and you alone Lord in my life. Amen. Now read the book of God's love in the Bible: The book of John chapters 1-21. God promises He will guide your life. Pray and ask God to bring the right people into your life. God will guide you to the right church full of people who love His words in the Bible. Our God is so faithful. God bless you today.
