You lifted me up! Out of the muck and the mire! Out of the slimy pit, you lifted me!
When we think of our issues and the messes that we are in, whether we think it was our faults or not, God wants to give us a testimony like David's:
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
Sure there situations that I would like to, and you would like to be out of, but not my own testimony. I don't want to have a testimony of what I did to get myself out of the pit. I want my testimony to be that HE lifted me out of the muck and the mire, and the slimy pit. He did it! Sure I may have done something, but it all wasn't me. It was because I trusted in the name of the Lord my God. Not to us, not to us, but to your name be my testimony, and let my testimony be for your glory!
Not to us, LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.
We are different
We are different. Those that are in Christ, we are to have a different testimony. Our lives are to reflect not our awesomeness, but His goodness. So let every testimony be that He lifted me! He lifted me out and set my feet on solid ground. HE lifted me! THAT will be our testimony! Not to us, but because we trust in the name of the Lord our God. Amen.
